The Smart Patient® Journey Road Map is for people with chronic disease and cancer who are trying to navigate the health system and make informed decisions on what will offer them the best outcome. Invariably, due to the poor offerings of modern medicine for cure, long-term remission or reversal of chronic disease, patients are seeking integrative approaches in the hope that by combining treatments they will improve their overall outcome. But with so much on offer, and mostly supported by marketing propaganda rather than clinical evidence, how does a patient choose the best pathway? This problem is further exacerbated in cancer, when time is not on your side and where making the wrong choices or choosing ineffectual treatments can, by default, take you in the opposite direction and further away from your desired end point.

There are two workshops, one for the cancer patient and the other for the patient managing a chronic condition. Each course will be orientated to the specific requirements of each group.

This one-day workshop will teach you how to use the Smart Patient Journey Roadmap in five easy stages:

• Starting point: understanding your diagnosis & what it may mean to you (where am I currently heading)
• Destination end point: defining where you would like to end up and whether it's possible
• Alignments: working out who is most able to help you get to your end point
• Evaluating claims: how to choose what products and treatments offer you the most value in getting you to your end point
• Monitoring: how to monitor your progress and manage any required changes.

What you will gain is the capacity to:

• Interact and and form positive partnerships with your health care professionals
• Develop skills in assessing treatment options
• Transform your decision-making when choosing practitioners and treatment options
• Measure the benefit of any treatment in your individual case

A tutorial will accompany the course.

Depending upon your requirements you may choose to do the distance-learning modules (coming soon) which you can complete in the comfort of your own home at a relaxed pace and have access to on-line video conferencing where you can speak with Kathryn, ask questions and hear her speak on the various topics.
